"change 4 a dolla" is produced by a trio of uk-based musicians who are all affiliated with futuristica records. drummer/keyboardist morgan "soulpersona" howell, keyboardist marc rapson, and beatmaker/producer rise. the trio laid the foundation of the track at howell's home studio, and replife dropped into the studio and wrote and recorded the verses within the span of 45 minutes. the song was inspired by replife's visit to lille, france, where he visited the neighborhood where riots took place over issues of the lack of affirmative action policies for arabic citizens of paris.
